Summer 2017

English Maths RE       Science Topic PE

This half term we will be revising and preparing for our SATs.  Grammar and reading comprehension will be a significant focus.

We will be using the book 'The Shadow Cage' as our text for the first part of the half-term and then after SATs we will completing Non-Fiction writing based on the Romans.

The children will be busy revising all areas of the maths curriculum in group sessions based on their particular areas for development in preparation for their SATs.  They will have daily homework to complete; please support them in doing this!

In this topic the children will learn that the apostles of Jesus were ordinary people who answered the call to follow Jesus. They will reflect on their own calling to be a follower of Jesus. They will know how the apostles changed when they received the Holy Spirit at Pentecost and reflect on how they can be changed. The children will know something about how the early Christian community lived and learn that the life of the first apostles was not easy.

We will be continuing to develop our investigation skills for the first half of the summer term.  Concentrating on how to set up experiments, record results and report our findings using scientific language.

For the first hal-of the Summer Term we will be focusing on the topic of 'The Romans'.

PE will be mainly Outdoor games(Cricket and Rounders) and Athletics.
