Through units of Mystery and Crime children will be reading and writing a range of Mystery stories (Secret Seven), Newspaper reports, Diaries, Balanced arguments and biographies. Throughout these units emphasis will be given to grammar and spelling. Please complete at least one page of grammar a week and practise weekly spellings. Children need to read daily and record their reading in their journals.
In maths we will be continuing to cover each of the Year 6 strands with a focus on both arithmetic and reasoning. Please complete Revision guides at home with your child and discuss their learning. Children are now completing weekly times-table challenges and they will move to the next level after completing the challenge.
|Jesus, the Bread of Life.
In this topic the children will learn about the different parts of the Mass, particularly the Liturgy of the Word and the Liturgy of the Eucharist. They will learn about the first Passover and show an understanding of the links between it and the Last Supper Jesus had with his disciples. They will reflect on the importance of the body and blood of Christ for Catholics.

Geography - North and South America, Continents. Map and fieldwork with a focus on North America. Art - sketching and photography of the local landscapes based on the artist Ansel Adams. Design technology - we will be making BURGERS!
|PE coaches will be delivering a range of Outdoor Sports throughout the Spring Term.|
