While preparing for SATs the children will be completing Literacy units based on the famous play 'Romeo and Juliet. They will be writing their own modern day version of the story. They will then complete their non-fiction unit and write Journalistic reports on the key incidents within the text and any key issues within the news at that time.
Throughout all of this there will be a significant emphasis on Grammar, Spelling, Punctuation and Handwriting in preparation for SATs.
In maths we will be continuing to cover each of the Year 6 strands with a focus on both arithmetic and reasoning. Please complete Revision guides at home with your child and discuss their learning. Children are now completing weekly times-table challenges and they will move to the next level after completing the challenge.
|Jesus, the Bread of Life.
In this topic the children will learn about the different parts of the Mass, particularly the Liturgy of the Word and the Liturgy of the Eucharist. They will learn about the first Passover and show an understanding of the links between it and the Last Supper Jesus had with his disciples. They will reflect on the importance of the body and blood of Christ for Catholics.
|Scientific investigations will be the focus of this half term. The children will be practising their SC1 skills.||
Geography - We will complete a study based on a European country - we have chosen Italy.
History - we will be studying the Romans and their key historical events.
Art - Focusing on famous Italian Artists as well as Vivaldi's Four Seasons
|PE coaches will be delivering a range of Outdoor Sports throughout the Spring Term.|
