Section 48 RE Inspection

We provide a sound secular education within the framework of a strong religious tradition and background. We recognise the need for the development of the whole child – academically, spiritually, socially, morally, in artistic, creative and sporting achievements. This provides the basis for their future school and adult lives.

You can read more about the Catholic ethos within the Section 48 RE inspection below.

School Sports Premium Report 2018/19

At Cathedral, we recognise the positive outcomes that a high-quality PE and school sport curriculum can achieve in all personal, social, cognitive and physical aspects of a child’s development and well-being. We aim to embed a culture of participation, enjoyment and achievement in sport, whilst building an understanding of health and well-being in our pupils that they continue to follow throughout their lives.  Our school sport programme offers a wide array of activities and extensive opportunities for participation in competitions and we are currently looking at creating more opportunities for the children.

SEND Information Report

All teachers are teachers of special educational needs. We recognise that it is the teacher’s responsibility to meet the needs of all children in their class through their classroom organisation, teaching materials, teaching style and differentiation. However, if the pupil does not make adequate progress even when teaching approaches are targeted at a pupil’s identified area of weakness, then the pupil may be identified as having special educational needs.
