Welcome to Beech Class

This term children will be working through a number of different units including;
In maths children will be covering topics such as;
|Our first topic is called 'The Good News' and allows the children to reflect on the news that Jesus shares in religious stories but also on the news he can bring to our own lives. After the half term we will be completing a topic on 'Mass' looking at the importance of this celebration, recognising symbols and as always making links to our own life experiences.||We commence the spring term looking at 'Materials', Children will re-cap names of materials, looking at natural and man made materials comparing the two and finally looking at materials changing states (Solids, liquids and gases)||
Our topic this term is 'The Great Fire of London. This is an exciting topic where children will explore key events and what life was like during this Tudor period. I am hoping to organise a trip to support the children and their understanding with this topic.
Our Design and Technology also links to this topic as children will be designing, creating and evaluating something that would help put the fire out.
|PE this term will be dance for indoor PE sessions and during outdoor PE we will be working on basic movement techniques and incorporating these skills into game situations.|
