This term children will be working through a number of different units including;
Traditional tales, reports (newspaper articles), recounts (diary writing), and poetry
The topics covered in maths will include;
Our first topic is called 'Chosen People'.
The children will discuss how they are chosen and gifted by God.

This term we are learning about
humans and their movement.
Pupils will learn about the stages of human growth. They will learn that animals grow until they are adult and that different animals start life in different forms, some as eggs and some as live births and they look at the needs of the young of different species.
Our first topic this term is The Great Fire Of London.
We will look at the cause and effects of the fire; how it changed London and how Samuel Pepys wrote his diary recording many events and facts.
For the second part of this term our topic will be The First Moon Landing.
We will find out about the missions to Space and about the first men to land on the moon.

-Reading - please ensure you read with your child and record reading in their diary at least 5 times per week.
- Spelling tests are completed on a Thursday and new spellings are set on a Friday.
Homework is given out on a Friday and is to be completed by the following Wednesday.
PE kits will be needed on a Monday and remain in school the entire week (this should include both outdoor and indoor clothing)
-Please provide a named water bottle for your child.
-The SATs tests for Year 2 will be taking place in the final two weeks of May. In preparation for this, below are some useful links to websites/games that can act as revision for the children covering some of the basic knowledge they require to access the papers;
